What a Delta Reign Pokemon master set includes

Track five things separately: the numbered set, the secret rares, the reverse holos, the product promos and the Mega Rayquaza ex cards. The numbered set and the product promos are confirmed; the rest is reported or estimated.

Confirmed

The numbered set

103numbered before secrets

Official English scans are numbered out of 103, ending with Zinnia's Trust at 103/103. The numbered set draws on Storm Emeralda's main set, Japan's three MEGA Starter Set ex decks and leftover Japanese Gym promos, and includes three Legendary Stadiums printed as two halves each.

Secret rares

3714 IR · Illustration RareA full-art card showing a Pokemon in an illustrated scene, numbered after the main set., 17 UR · Ultra RareA full-art Pokemon ex or Trainer card, numbered after the main set., 6 SIR · Special Illustration RareThe top full-art rarity for Pokemon ex and Trainer cards, and usually a set's most valuable cards.

Fourteen illustration rares, seventeen ultra rares and six Special Illustration Rares are reported, numbered from 104. Seven have been shown in English, including Raikou ex at 136/103. The gold Mega Rayquaza ex is not in these counts; see the open question.

Unannounced

Reverse holos

~93if one pattern, as in recent sets

Perfect Order, Chaos Rising and Pitch Black each have one reverse holo per eligible card and no ball patterns. If Delta Reign follows them, every base card except the four Mega ex and six other Pokemon ex gets one, which is our estimate, not an announcement.

The Mega Rayquaza ex cards

4expected, 1 shown in English

Only the double rare (084/103) has been shown in English. Japan has three more: an ultra rare, a Special Art Rare by Kazuki Minami and a gold Mega Ultra Rare. If all three come over, the two rarest decide most of the set's budget.

140 or 141 cards?

Unannounced
?

Trackers report 140: 103 numbered cards plus 14 illustration rares, 17 ultra rares and 6 Special Illustration Rares. Pitch Black was announced with the same kind of breakdown, and the released set then added a gold Darkrai at 120/084 on top of it. If the gold Mega Rayquaza ex follows that pattern, it would be 141. Pokemon has said only "over 135 cards".

Decide on the two big Rayquaza cards before you buy sealed

In Japan the gold Mega Rayquaza ex and its Special Art Rare are worth more than every other Storm Emeralda card put together, and community counts find the gold one in only about two percent of boxes. Sealed product will not get you there. Set aside a singles budget for them, or decide they are out of scope, before you buy boxes for anything else.

When to buy

Presale

Early market prices can move quickly. Check recent sales and compare with retail prices before buying.

After release

Compare completed sales once more sellers and opened product reach the market.

Later waves

Recheck the sealed calendar before buying duplicate promos or opening packs for one missing card.

For completion

Use singles for known gaps. Packs are entertainment, not a way to find one specific card.

What is confirmed so far

Pokemon teased the English name on June 18, 2026 and announced the set on August 20. Its Japanese counterpart, Storm Emeralda, released on July 31.

Split Stadiums are back

Legendary Stadiums are printed as two Uncommons sharing one panorama, and you need both halves in hand to play one. It is the same idea as the HeartGold and SoulSilver LEGEND cards. Legendary Summit and Legendary Ocean Trench are shown in English; a lava-themed third pair is in the Japanese set.

Three Japanese sources in one set

Delta Reign combines Storm Emeralda with cards from Japan's three MEGA Starter Set ex decks and leftover Japanese Gym promos such as Grisham, which is why the English numbered set is longer than Japan's. It is the first English set since Phantasmal Flames built from more than one Japanese release.

Delta, without Delta Species

The name refers to the Delta Episode, the Zinnia and Rayquaza story from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. There are no δ Delta Species cards in the Japanese list or in any English reveal.

Roaring Skies, eleven years on

Roaring Skies in May 2015 was the last English set led by Mega Rayquaza. Its full-art M Rayquaza-EX is still one of the most valuable cards of the XY era, and that history is why the Japanese market treated Storm Emeralda's gold Rayquaza as a grail from day one.

The structure has changed a lot. Roaring Skies put almost everything into its numbered set, with only two secret rares above it. Delta Reign has a shorter numbered set and a long run of illustration rares, ultra rares and Special Illustration Rares on top, so the cost of a master set sits in the secret rares rather than the base.

Roaring Skies figures from the Cardrake database. A structural comparison, not a price forecast.

Where the Japanese and English sets split

Storm Emeralda has a 76-card main set and 113 cards in total. Delta Reign's numbered set is 27 cards longer, mostly because it adds cards from the three Japanese MEGA Starter Set ex decks, such as Sprigatito, Meowscarada ex, Eevee, Jolteon, Morpeko and Zarude. Their full-art Sprigatito and Eevee become pack illustration rares in English, and a Zorua illustration rare is reported too. One of the seven Pokemon ex candidates was cut, and leftover Japanese Gym promos such as Grisham are included.

The Kyogre illustration rare goes the other way: a pack card in Japan, the Elite Trainer Box promo in English. Pack structure differs as well. A Japanese box holds 30 five-card packs and an English box 36 ten-card packs with reverse holo slots, so Japanese pull counts are a rough guide at best.

What collectors make of Delta Reign

Drawn from r/PokemonTCG, reviews and forum discussion from June to early October 2026, much of it reacting to the Japanese release.

What collectors like

The ETB and its Kyogre

The ETB · Elite Trainer BoxA retail box with booster packs (usually nine), a promo card, sleeves, dice and Energy cards. art reveal drew more than two thousand upvotes on r/PokemonTCG, and commenters called the Kyogre the best ETB promo of the era.

A Mega Rayquaza again

The first new one since 2015, and the gold card is already a grail in Japan. Most of the excitement starts here, along with the Raikou ex Special Illustration Rare.

The split Stadiums and the IRs

Collectors like the idea of the Kyogre and Groudon illustration rares next to the Legendary Stadium pairs in a binder. The Eevee illustration rare was a welcome English surprise.

What collectors do not

Finding any product

Launch day is shared with the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections, and collectors expect long lines, scalpers and overnight camping.

Busy art direction

Comparisons with Roaring Skies pack art call the new look too loud, and the Rayquaza SIR · Special Illustration RareThe top full-art rarity for Pokemon ex and Trainer cards, and usually a set's most valuable cards. art splits opinion.

Top-heavy value

In Japan two Rayquaza cards hold most of the set's value, which makes opening packs feel like a lottery for one Pokemon.

Japanese market context: Storm Emeralda, October 2026

$946

The gold Mega Rayquaza ex (113/076) on TCGplayer's Japanese market, October 3, 2026. The Special Art Rare (110/076) was about $314.

about -70%

$52

Raikou ex Special Art Rare, the third most valuable card in the set and a long way behind either Rayquaza.

Japanese card prices, not English ones. English cards follow their own print run and launch date, so use these as a guide to which cards will lead, not to what they will cost.

Still unconfirmed

Do not buy Japanese Storm Emeralda cards thinking they belong in an English master set. The numbering and parts of the card list differ.

The full English list is not out. Any checklist with every card numbered from 104 upward is guesswork, and that includes where the gold Mega Rayquaza ex sits.

TCGplayer lists the Spritzee checklane blister under the misspelling Spitzee. Search for both spellings if a listing seems to be missing.

The Build & Battle Box is the prerelease kit. It reaches general retail on November 20, two weeks after the rest of the set, so early listings for it are presale stock.

The premium checklane and Target blisters hold Chaos Rising cards, not Delta Reign ones.

Binder layout and storage

Plan the binder layout for about 240 slots once reverse holos and promos are in, which fits a single 360-pocket 9-pocket binder with room for late additions. Keep the two halves of each Legendary Stadium next to each other on the same page row, left half first, so the panorama reads across the pocket. Put the product promos in their own section after the secret rares, and keep the regular and Pokemon Center-stamped Kyogre side by side so the stamp is easy to check. Sleeve the Mega Rayquaza ex secret rares straight from the pack and move them to top loaders or semi-rigid holders if you plan to grade.

Premium binders

$30-50

Dragon Shield Codex: archival pages, side-loading pockets, acid-free. Nine-pocket for layouts that mirror your checklist, twelve-pocket if the master set runs long.

Perfect-fit sleeves

$30-50

Every card deserves one, including the bulk. Perfect fits prevent the micro-scratches that come from sliding cards in and out of binder pockets.

Top loaders

$15-25

Rigid, acid-free protection for the cards you plan to hold long term rather than page in a binder.

Delta Reign questions, answered

Answers lean on official announcements. Where something is not public yet, the answer says so.

When does Pokemon TCG Delta Reign release?

Delta Reign releases on November 6, 2026. Prerelease events run from October 24 to November 1 at local game stores, the set arrives in Pokemon TCG Live on November 5, and the Build & Battle Box reaches general retail on November 20.

How many cards are in Delta Reign?

The main set is numbered to 103, which official English card scans confirm. Trackers report 37 secret rares on top for 140 in total, while Pokemon's announcement says only that there are over 135. If the gold Mega Rayquaza ex is numbered after the Special Illustration Rares, as the gold Darkrai was in Pitch Black, the final total could be 141. Treat 140 as provisional until the full list is out.

Pokemon master set guide →

Is Delta Reign the English version of Storm Emeralda?

Mostly. Delta Reign is built from Japan's Storm Emeralda, cards from the three Japanese MEGA Starter Set ex decks (Eevee ex, Zoroark ex and Meowscarada ex) and leftover Japanese Gym promos such as Grisham. A few Storm Emeralda cards move around or drop out; the Japanese and English section of this guide lists the differences.

Does Delta Reign have Delta Species cards?

No. No δ Delta Species card appears in Storm Emeralda or in any English reveal. The name refers to the Delta Episode from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Rayquaza and Zinnia story, and Zinnia's Trust is in the set.

What are Legendary Stadiums?

They are the new mechanic in Delta Reign. Each Legendary Stadium is printed as two Uncommon cards that share one illustration, and you need both halves in hand to play it, like the LEGEND cards from HeartGold and SoulSilver. The set has three of them. Legendary Summit and Legendary Ocean Trench have been shown in English, and the third is a lava-themed pair from the Japanese set. For a master set, each half counts as its own card.

Binder organization guide →

What promo cards come with Delta Reign products?

The Elite Trainer Box has a full-art Kyogre (MEP · Mega Evolution PromoBlack Star promo numbering for the Mega Evolution era. These cards come in sealed products and at events, not in booster packs. 117), and the Pokemon Center ETB has that Kyogre plus a copy with a Pokemon Center stamp. The three-pack blister has Seel (MEP 116) and the checklane blister has Spritzee (MEP 115). The Build & Battle Box has one of four foil promos at random: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o (MEP 111 to 114).

Do the Delta Reign premium checklane and Target blisters have Delta Reign promos?

No, going by the official packaging. The Ampharos and Delphox premium checklane blisters show the Mareep and Fennekin evolution lines, and the Target blisters show Keldeo with Delibird and Xerneas with Deoxys. The visible card numbers are all Chaos Rising numbers, so Delta Reign master set collectors can skip these blisters.

Chaos Rising set guide →

Can you pull the Kyogre illustration rare from Delta Reign packs?

No. In Japan it is a pack card, but the English set takes it out of the packs and uses the art for the Elite Trainer Box promo instead.

Will Delta Reign have Poke Ball or Master Ball reverse holos?

Probably not. Perfect Order, Chaos Rising and Pitch Black each have one standard reverse holo per eligible card and no ball pattern versions. Multiple patterns were a feature of the Ascended Heroes special set. Nothing official confirms Delta Reign's reverse holos yet, so check again at launch.

Is there a gold Mega Rayquaza ex in Delta Reign?

One is expected. Storm Emeralda has a gold Mega Ultra Rare Mega Rayquaza ex by takuyoa, and Pitch Black brought Japan's gold Darkrai over as a Mega Hyper Rare. Its English number has not been revealed.

What are the chase cards in Delta Reign?

Going by Japan, the gold Mega Rayquaza ex and the Mega Rayquaza ex Special Illustration Rare are far ahead of everything else. Raikou ex Special Illustration Rare, the Mega Rayquaza ex ultra rare and Zinnia's Trust Special Illustration Rare come next. English prices will differ, and Japanese prices have been falling since July.

Should I preorder Delta Reign?

Preorder at retail price if a product holds a promo you want; the sealed route above lists which ones. For singles, wait. Japanese prices for the top cards fell steeply in the weeks after launch, and English presale prices usually follow the same path.

Singles buying guide →Master set budgeting →

Can I track Delta Reign in Cardrake yet?

Not yet. The checklist and binder layout open on the binder planner once the card list syncs, and the collection tracker opens at release.

How does Delta Reign compare to Roaring Skies?

Roaring Skies (2015) was the last set led by Mega Rayquaza and had only two secret rares above its numbered set. Delta Reign has a smaller numbered set but many more cards above it, and the chase sits in illustration-style rares rather than full-art EX cards.
