The storyThe Floette Fans Waited Thirteen Years For
Eternal Flower Floette is one of the longest-running unresolved threads in Pokemon. The variant exists in Pokemon X and Y's game data with its own internal flower colour code. No event released it. No trade unlocked it. The only legitimate way to see it was AZ's post-game cutscene, where he carries it offscreen and walks out of the storyline. Dataminers have been writing about it since 2013.
“First legitimately playable Mega Floette / Eternal Flower Floette”
Legends: Z-A resolved it. AZ's Floette became playable as a Mega Evolution, finishing the storyline X and Y opened thirteen years earlier. The TCG followed with Chaos Rising's SIR. The illustration leans into grace rather than power, gold petals, a floating posture, the warm palette that separates this card from every other Mega ex SIR in the set.
The card belongs with AZ's Tranquility SIR at #120. One depicts the Pokemon, the other depicts the moment AZ and Floette finally reach peace. Buying one without the other leaves the storyline unfinished.
By the numbersMarket analysis
Around $88 raw on TCGPlayer at last sync. Entry of the Chaos Rising SIR cluster, just below AZ's Tranquility (~$96) and well under the mid-cluster Mega Dragalge and Cinccino SIRs (~$111-114). Mega Greninja's tier is a different conversation entirely.
Lore-driven cards drift rather than spike. Expect the $70-95 band to hold through the first 60 days. The pairing with AZ's Tranquility provides the floor. Most collectors buying one buy both.
The lore-driven demand is durable but capped. AZ's Floette closes a famous unresolved thread, which gives this card a permanent collector base. The ceiling is set by Floette's mid-tier character popularity outside the AZ storyline. Graded copies in PSA 10, paired with AZ's Tranquility, are the cleanest hold for collectors who care about the storyline rather than the speculation.
PSA 10 around 1.3-1.6x raw. The light palette is kind to most print defects but reveals centering drift quickly. Gold accents grade cleanly. Submit on copies with confident centering, the lower base value tightens the margin past that.
Roughly 1 in 72 packs across all six Chaos Rising SIRs. Per-Floette odds work out to about 1 in 432 packs.
One of six SIRs in Chaos Rising. Lower tier alongside AZ's Tranquility. The thematic pairing makes them the most narratively integrated SIR pair the Mega Evolution era has produced.
ArtworkWhy the art matters

Artist information pending verification from card database updates.
Mega Floette suspended mid-air, the signature flower extended. Gold and pink dominate, with the Mega form's elaborated petal arrangement reading as a careful escalation of standard Floette rather than a redesign. Background uses bokeh-style colour gradient. No rendered landscape, no battle pose, just the Pokemon and the light.
Special Illustration Rare with full-bleed textured holofoil. Texture follows the petal contours and gold detailing. The warm palette interacts with the foil in a way most darker SIRs cannot match, the gold accents catch differently as the card tilts.
Most Mega ex SIRs in the Mega Evolution era commit to scale and aggression. Mega Greninja's shurikens. Mega Zygarde's cannon. Mega Dragalge's amplified spines. Mega Floette refuses that template. The illustration depicts grace, not power. That choice matches AZ's storyline, where Floette returns through reconciliation rather than victory.
BackgroundAbout Mega Floette ex
Floette debuted in Pokemon X and Y (2013) as the middle stage of the Flabébé / Floette / Florges line. National Pokedex #670. Fairy-type, with flower colour variants across red, yellow, orange, blue, and white. AZ's Floette is the Eternal Flower variant, with its own colour code in the game data but no release path. Pokemon Adventures expanded the lore. Pokemon Masters EX gave AZ a synced pair in 2021. Legends: Z-A (2025) finally let players play with AZ's Floette in Mega form.

The warm palette hides minor surface marks but exposes centering drift on either axis. Inspect the gold detail work under angled light, that's where print inconsistencies show first.
Grade clean copies. PSA 10 premium runs 1.3-1.6x raw. The lower base value tightens the economics, so only submit on centering you're confident about. Submitting alongside AZ's Tranquility makes sense for collectors building the paired display. Read the grading guide →
Perfect-fit sleeve on pull. Top loader or magnetic case for raw. Display next to AZ's Tranquility for the storyline collection, the two cards were designed to be viewed together. See the storage guide →
TCGPlayer Direct or eBay both work cleanly at this price point. Buy the pair with AZ's Tranquility rather than the single card. Pricing on both is unlikely to drop dramatically given the lore-driven floor, so timing matters less than it would for a speculative chase. See the singles buying guide →

Quiet but durable. The Eternal Flower Floette obsession is mostly a lore-community thing rather than a mainstream collector hype cycle. People who care about AZ care a lot. Everyone else recognises the card as a competent SIR without going further than that.

High in lore-focused subreddits and YouTube essay channels covering AZ. Pull videos featuring this card almost always pause to explain the Eternal Flower backstory, which extends the engagement well past the initial reveal. The storyline closure is what people talk about, not the card mechanics.
